POC - M 6/9 extractor hoods are traditional low-cost and reliable filter-ventilation units with pocket filters (600 - 900 m³/hr), which thanks to the modular system have a very wide range of applications.

Functions of extractors
The polluted air supplied by the extraction pipe or by the extraction arm, first passes through the tray space, where the heavier particles are separated due to the decrease in air velocity. The air then passes through a filter chamber with a pocket filter, which captures fine impurities down to 0,3μm and aerosols, and is then led through a fan chamber to the discharge. If dust particles smaller than 0,3μm or gaseous pollutants and vapours are required to be captured, a stage II filtration cabinet with appropriate filter inserts can be included as part of the extractor before or after the fan chamber. The filtered air may be discharged back into the extraction space via the grille housing or discharged via an air duct connected to the grille housing outside the hall.

Basic parts

POC industrial hoods are designed as a modular modular system. This arrangement enables a wide range of customer requirements to be met within short delivery times.

The hoods are assembled from four main parts:

● dust container ( Z )
● filter chamber with shroud ( F )
● fan chamber ( V )
● hood cover ( K )

Each of the above parts is available in several versions suitable for different hood applications. In the case of extraction of very fine dust particles or pollutants containing undesirable gaseous impurities, the hood can be equipped with
● a stage II filtration cabinet ( D )
This is also available in several versions - with different types of filter inserts.

The bottom part of the hood is the dust collector. Here, after regeneration, particles trapped by the pocket filter and particles separated due to the decrease in air velocity during its passage are collected. The hopper must be emptied at regular intervals.
It is available in the following versions:

Z1 - drawer 45 l
Z2 - hopper with 60 l cylindrical hopper

Z4 - We also supply the POC 6/9-OM device for oil mist extraction.The filter chamber of this extractor is equipped with a metal pre-filter and a special filter for catching oil mist.



A filter chamber with a shroud is mounted above the dust container. The chamber is fitted at the front with a removable lid fixed with four M8 hexagon socket head cap screws of 5 mm size. The lid allows easy inspection of the pocket filter. At the rear of the filter chamber there is a 125 mm diameter suction opening with flange and gasket for mounting the suction pipe.

Inside the chamber, a pocket filter is clamped between the pressure frame and the knockout frame. A pocket filter with filtration class F9 according to EN 779 is supplied as standard. The design of the hood allows the regeneration of the pocket filter when the unit is switched off in two ways:
manually - by means of a knock-off lever ( F1 )
( the knock-off lever is located on the left side at the top of the filter chamber )
automatically - by means of a pneumatic cylinder ( F2 )
( the whole mechanism is located inside the hood )

In this case, the hood is also supplied with a programmable unit that coordinates the operation of the hood fan and the hood and allows setting the hood parameters. At the customer's request, pocket filters with a different filtration class can also be supplied - ranging from G3 to F9 (according to EN 779). An overview of the possible filter materials and their use is shown in Table 1. In case of a request for delivery of a hood with a non-standard filter material, we recommend to consult our expert technicians for the selection of a suitable filter material.

The main part of the hood is the fan chamber (V) in one cabinet with the filter chamber. This is fitted at the front with a gasket and a removable cover, fixed with four M8 hexagon socket head cap screws of 5 mm. A direct-driven radial medium-pressure fan is mounted in the fan chamber. An asynchronous three-phase single-speed flanged electric motor is used to drive the fan. (On customer's request, the hood can also be supplied with a single-phase electric motor.) The fan used determines the technical parameters of the hood (see Chapter 3). Inside, the fan chamber is lined with noise insulating material. All fan chambers have identical dimensions, only the electrical equipment differs according to the type of shroud used:
● For hoods with manual shroud, it is supplied with a motor starter, which also serves to connect the main power supply.
● For hoods with automatic shrouding, an electronic control unit is supplied as a separate part for connecting the main power supply and for controlling the shroud (this can be mounted on the side of the hood cabinet or outside the hood).


The top part of the hood, designed for the exhaust of filtered air, consists of a cover ( K ) manufactured in three versions:
● K1 - cover with a D160 mm sleeve (for connection to the exhaust pipe)
● K2 - cover with 1 exhaust grille (for exhalation freely into the space)
● K3 - cover with 2 exhaust grilles (for exhalation freely into the space in hoods with II.with a second exhaust with a filtering stage)

Pozor, the use of the K1 and K3 hoods increases the noise level of the hood.To reduce the noise level, we recommend using the K1 hood together with the large-area outlet, which also serves as a silencer.


In case of a requirement for the capture of very fine dust particles or for the capture of gaseous impurities from the extracted air, it is advisable to include a stage II filtration cabinet ( D ) as part of the extractor.


POC-M hoods in the basic version are designed for use in explosion-proof environments at temperatures from -20ºC to +40ºC. The temperature of the extracted air must not exceed 90ºC. The hoods are installed indoors.

If the device is required to be located outdoors, it must be supplied with special surface protection and placed under a shelter that provides protection against direct weathering. This requirement must be specified in the order. POC - M extractors are designed for extraction of metallic and non-metallic dusts and small particles, aerosols, with a second filtration stage and coarse pre-filter they can be used for extraction of welding fumes.
