Skilled trades offer a lot of opportunities in terms of good pay, high job satisfaction, and plenty of available work. However, skilled trades haven’t typically been a domain for women. There have been several barriers in place and women have typically not chosen trades for that reason. But that’s something the college, employers, and other organizations focused on trades careers are dedicated to changing. One of those people is Mandy Newcomb, an award-winning red seal chef, educator, and program coordinator of the professional cook program at CNC.
